Rain Barrels

-Rain Barrels are connected to your downspout, they hold the stormwater that is collected from the roof. This water then can be harvested and used for watering gardens and plants.

-It only takes 1/4 inch of rainfall to fill a standard rain barrel (55gal). The water collected is "soft water and works great for house plants along with other tropical house plants.

 

Advantages:

-Reduces the voulume of water flowing into the local lakes, rivers and their water sheds. Also reduces urban runoff.

-Provides an backup water source for times of drout.

-Saves money on water bills.
